Opposition councilors sued Signorelli for IM donations to the Broad Front

In turn, it is requested take statements from the case of Carolina Cosse and Gabriel Romanoby the Municipality of Montevideo, as well as Flavia Garcia and Fernando Pereirafor the Broad Front.

The complaint is for crime of “embezzlement and abuse of functions in cases not specifically provided for by law”and argues that the responsibility of those who received and kept the shipment for two days at the headquarters of the Broad Front should also be analyzed.

Crime of embezzlement (article 153 of the Penal Code):

“The public official who appropriates the money or movable things, which were in possession by reason of his position, belonging to the State, or to individuals, for his own benefit or that of others, will be punished with one year in prison to six in penitentiary. and with special disqualification from two to six years”.

Crime of abuse of functions in cases not specifically provided for by law (article 162 of the Penal Code):

“The public official who abuses his position, commits or orders any arbitrary act to the detriment of the Administration or individuals, which is not specifically provided for in the provisions of the Code or special laws, will be punished with three months’ imprisonment. prison to three years of penitentiary, special disqualification from two to four years and a fine of 10 UR (Readjustable Units) to 3,000 UR “.

The plaintiff councilors were Matías Barreto, Víctor Aguirre, Gustavo Facciola, Diego Rodríguez, Javier Barrios Bove, Fabián Bravetti, Adriana Balcárcel, Rafael Rondán Cavani, Analía Pereira, Rafael Seijas and Pablo Fredes.
