Opposition candidate Edmundo González Urrutia said Wednesday that he will not attend a meeting of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) of Venezuela, which opened a process at the request of President Nicolás Maduro to “certify” his disputed victory in the elections of July 28.

“Citizen Nicolás Maduro Moros, who has filed an alleged appeal before the Electoral Chamber, has publicly stated (…) that if I do not appear I will incur legal liability, and that, if I appear and submit copies of the voting records, there will also be serious criminal liability. Is this an impartial procedure that respects due process? Am I condemned in advance?” González Urrutia, who is alleging fraud, said in a statement.
