Equality of conditions seeks to offer the Directorate of Social and Economic Development
The Morel Administration aimed at a change in the conception of the Social Management Area of the Departmental Government, adding to the management other components that involve the human development of people.
The person in charge of this General Directorate, former Director of ANDE in the previous period of National Government, pointed out that it is practically impossible to achieve social development without economic development, which does not necessarily happen only because of money.
“It’s all the same. Sometimes we separate the areas by names to be able to clearly identify the objectives to be carried out, but one thing is linked to the other, social development has to be accompanied by economic development” he remarked Federico Perdomo.
“When we talk about economic development it is not necessarily money, but it is equality of conditions, equality of opportunities. We see that in entrepreneurs, with fairground vendors. When we give them the opportunities and those opportunities result in the possibility of selling and marketing, that also ends up generating, not only for them, being better off and that money that was made at the fair or in the Paseo Emprendedor ends up being put into the neighborhood store, in the hairdresser or in the hardware store, that makes the economy grow and generate Other job opportunities said to THE DIARY PROFESSIONAL.
Through the Entrepreneurship and Employment Area, the Cerro Largo Development School was created, a work led by Gervasio Rodríguez. In that sense, the first training course was aimed at municipal officials themselves, specifically cafeteria and snack bar workers, with the purpose of providing them with greater tools to care for the users of these services.
“For the first time Cerro Largo entered the Global Entrepreneurship Week, a week that is held worldwide. Here the Entrepreneur Walk was set up where another concept of how to expose and present entrepreneurship” said Federico Perdomo.
At the inauguration of the BIO PARK there was also an exhibition and sale of products by the entrepreneurs of the department, which was done in coordination with the Fair Manager Lucas Fernández. “These are things that make the economy move a little more and therefore improve the social quality and quality of life of people” highlighted the General Director of Social and Economic Development of the Municipality of Cerro Largo.
