Civil groups opposed to the revocation of the mandate marched yesterday through the streets of Mexico City, in order to demonstrate against the exercise promoted by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
The mobilization began at the Angel of Independence and headed towards the Monument to the Revolution. The participants dressed in white and carried banners that read: You finish and go!
, Empty ballot boxes!
and Don’t vote on April 10
in addition to expressing its support for the National Electoral Institute.
Among the protesters against the referendum referendum was Adrián LeBarón, members of the organization yes for mexico
and the Party of the Democratic Revolution.
The number of attendees was lower than estimated by the organizers. Also in other cities, such as Guadalajara, Puebla, Monterrey, Querétaro and Veracruz, citizens took to the streets to express themselves against that consultation.
