He added that, despite the blackmail, the repression, the kidnapping of opponents, the improper use of all State assets, the partisanship of all institutions, the imposition of candidacies, their alliance with stilt parties that do not represent the people and the decapitation of the freedoms of expression, assembly, association, and mobilization, “the Nicaraguan people once again with their creativity resisted the repressive onslaught and with their absence told the regime “Basta Ya”».
Call to the international community
The group of opponents also demanded that the international community, including the Organization of American States (OAS), declare the Sandinista regime illegitimate and carry out more forceful actions that allow finding a way out of the crisis that Nicaragua is experiencing under the Ortega-Murillo regime.
«Citizens know that sovereignty resides in the people, that this regime collapsed and that its permanence in power depends on ourselves. We urge the International Community to declare the illegitimacy of this Dictatorial Regime, the withdrawal of all the funds on which its power is based and the creation of an international body for the release of political prisoners and access international and universal justice» opponents said.
Likewise, they called for the formation of a collective political force “that proposes a program that leads to a solution to such a crisis and that, together with the people, displaces this infernal dictatorship and leads territories, exile and diaspora to Nicaragua along the paths of peace, freedoms , coexistence between brothers, the long-awaited justice and democracy. The people have the word to direct us from now on to the democratic transition in Nicaragua and free the political prisoners.
According to data from the Supreme Electoral Council (CSE), an institution controlled by the Nicaraguan regime, the Sandinista National Liberation Front became the absolute governor in the country, reaching a total of 2,028,035 valid votes, 54.9% of 3,692,733 Nicaraguans summoned to vote.
