Opponents celebrate the ruling of the SCJN on tax crimes

The opposition celebrated the Supreme Court resolution that declared unconstitutional the informal preventive detention for tax crimes, approved by Morena and its allies in November 2019. Morena’s coordinator, Ricardo Monreal, commented that he does not agree with the decision of the maximum court, but they will abide by it.

Interviewed regarding that resolution of the highest court of the country, to endorse the actions of unconstitutionality presented by those integrated in the so-called opposition bloc in the Senate and the controversy in the same sense of the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) against some aspects of the reform to the National Security Law, the National Code of Criminal Procedures and the Fiscal Code of the Federation, responded: so are legal decisions.

Stressed the morenista, We do not agree, but we have to abide by them, it is normal, that is the rule of law and the balance of powers, we are going to continue working. Fortunately in Mexico there is now a division of powers, there is a balance of powers and decisions are made autonomously, and that is fine, there is the rule of law.

Meanwhile, PAN legislators celebrated the ruling of the Court declaring unconstitutional the preventive detention of tax crimes, considering that they are not considered in Article 19 of the Magna Carta. On the rostrum, the senator of the blue and white Damián Zepeda stressed that the opposition spoke out against this reform, which Morena and his allies approved, since it is unconstitutional.

The reforms proposed that threats to national security, organized crime and crimes that merit informal preventive detention, those of tax fraud, will be considered; smuggling and its comparable and the issuance, sale and use of false invoices, which in all respects was disproportionate and violated the human rights of MexicansThe National Action (PAN), Institutional Revolutionary (PRI), Citizen Movement (MC) and Democratic Revolution (PRD) parties warned on their Twitter page.
