During the last six -year term, the Federal Government stopped exercising 122 billion pesos of the budget for security, which were reinstated to the Treasury, instead of being used for police equipment, training and combat of crime, argued deputies of PRI and the PAN.
Deputy Jericho Abramo (PRI) explained that the sub -exercise was to compensate for public spending and raised a reform to sanction officials who, by intent, do not exercise security funds.
He explained that of 425 thousand 425 million pesos authorized by the Chamber of Deputies between 2020 and 2024, the Government spent 303 thousand 453.8 million, according to the Treasury data that the legislator cited.
Initially, the PRI presented an initiative for safety sub -exercises to be used for the same item in public spending, but given the intention of the Budget Commission to reject it, it chose to raise another in order to assign administrative responsibilities to the officials who do not exercise the funds.
He said that as the security budget increased, the sub -exercise also increased. He cited that in 2020, the Chamber endorsed a budget of 60 thousand 150.7 million and the Government spent 62 thousand 770.4 million, this is 2,619.7 million more.
However, as of 2021 the sub -exercise began: 63 thousand 441.7 million available, 54 thousand 764.2 were spent; In 2022, when 93 thousand 379.5 million were authorized, only 57 thousand 531.4 were applied; The following year, 100 thousand 28.6 was available and 58 thousand 721.3 million were spent.
The last year of the six -year period, the Chamber approved 105 thousand 838.8 million and the Government spent only 72 thousand 286.2 million.
With those 120 billion, all municipalities with guns and bulletproof vests, face identification systems and car detection systems for criminals monitoring, or hiring 397 thousand municipal and state police for a full year, with average salary of 25 thousand pesos each more more benefits.
In this regard, PAN Héctor Saúl Téllez considered that the resources not exercised could be used for training and certification, as well as a team, What would have managed to reduce insecurity, but what was left was a wave of violence that the ravages are live
.
He reproached that the National Search Commission did not exercise one billion pesos, while the National Center for Human Identification was dismantled.
