The special deployment that heads the Bolivarian National Armed Force (Fanb) south of Guárico, provides that “all those who dare to attack the peaceful and humble inhabitants of our geography will be legally intervened.”
The information was provided by General Domingo Hernández Lárez, head of the Fanb’s Operational Strategic Command (Ceofanb).
Two days ago Last News reported the military deployment on the Guárico-Apure border where criminal groups that possess long weapons and explosive devices operate, according to reports.
Yesterday, Hernández Lárez confirmed the activity that he called Operation Zaraza and published photos of the deployment on his twitter account. “Urras (Rapid Reaction Units) of the FANB start Operation Zaraza (Apure-Guárico) in the search, detection and cutting of armed criminal groups that vilely and cowardly subjugate the populations surrounding the plains territories, promoting the collection of vaccines , rustling, drug trafficking and other infamous actions”, Hernández Lárez wrote yesterday.
Operation Zaraza covers the south of Guárico, which includes the municipalities of Francisco de Miranda (Calabozo), Esteros de Camaguán (Camaguán) and San Jerónimo de Guayabal (Guayabal). And from neighboring Apure, its capital San Fernando.
On Saturday, July 8, four men were murdered in a rural area of Guayabal where they left their bodies tied with ropes and faces disfigured by bullet wounds, according to police reports.
The quadruple murder is attributed to the gang of Octavio José Rojas Martínez (El Fiebre), one of the cells of the Tren del Llano, a criminal organization dedicated to collecting vaccines and selling drugs, among others.
