Operation tun-tun reached the Penitentiary Ministry

Operation tun-tun reached the Penitentiary Ministry

Agents of the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (DGCIM) arrested 10 officials of the Ministry for Penitentiary Services, allegedly involved in plans designed by opposition sectors to activate prisoners in various protests, according to judicial sources.

Among those arrested are seven guards from the El Rodeo II Judicial Detention Center, who were allegedly tasked with letting some prisoners escape so that they could go on to cause violence.

From other sources we learned that the DGCIM is holding the Deputy Minister of the Penitentiary Service, Kévin Ávila, and is questioning him regarding the aforementioned plans. The DGCIM is also questioning the Director General of Security and Custody, as well as the Director General of Penitentiary Establishments.

These officials were allegedly betrayed by Luis Yáñez (Valle), head of El Rodeo II, who in turn was contacted by former opposition deputy Gilber Caro.
