The Fourth Investigative Court of the National District postponed the preliminary trial of the case of alleged corruption Operation Squidwhich heads the former ministers Donald Guerrero, José Ramón Peralta and Gonzalo Castillo.
The lawyer representing the State in this case, Welcome Fabián Meloreported that the audience was rescheduled for November 18, so that some citations can be regularized.
In addition to Guerrero, Peralta and Castillo, there are accused in the file another 31 individuals and 13 companies for allegedly defrauding the State with more than 41 billion of pesos through the irregular payment of properties declared of public utility, bribes to finance the internal process of the Dominican Liberation Party and the 2020 elections, as well as an extortion project in betting banks.
Among those facing preliminary trial There are the former senator of Azua, Rafael Calderón, the lawyers Ángel Lockward, Ana Linda and Emir Fernández de Paola, Juan Tomás Polanco Céspedes, as well as the former director of the State Sugar Council (CEA), Luis Miguel Piccirilo Mccabe; the former director of Cadastre, Claudio Silver Peña Peña, among others.
