Operation Republic is carried out to safeguard the electoral process

Members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) are already carrying out Operation Republic to safeguard the entire electoral process of the National Electoral Council (CNE), in view of the presidential election on Sunday, July 28.

“Operation Republic is proceeding as planned, with missions of accompaniment, security, custody, transfer and safeguarding of machinery, infrastructure, men, materials and equipment in support of the Electoral Power through the CNE,” wrote the Strategic Operational Commander of the FANB, Domingo Hernández Lárez in a post on the X network.

Hernández Lárez pointed out that the FANB and the Citizen Security Organs (OSC), “as eminently professional organizations, will have among their functions that of maintaining and restoring public order, protecting citizens, homes and families, supporting the decisions of the competent authorities and ensuring the peaceful enjoyment of constitutional guarantees and rights,” to this end and in support of the CNE, he said.

In this regard, he explained that the formation of command and control structures in all the country’s garrisons is beginning with the use of peace quadrants, command posts, polygons, platforms, security areas and others, aimed at guaranteeing order and also guaranteeing peace and tranquility for the population during the current Plan República.

Finally, he stressed that the officials will work in the missions of accompaniment, transfer, security, custody, order and safeguarding of materials, personnel, infrastructure and equipment to be used in the different scheduled phases (pre-electoral, electoral and post-electoral).
