Operation Ocean: Justice sentenced three other defendants for abbreviated agreements

The court ruled on Wednesday new sentences under abbreviated processes for three defendants by Operation Oceanthe megacause that investigates sexual crimes against minors in Uruguay.

It was for the crime of retribution or promise of retribution to minors for performing sexual or erotic acts of any kind. In total there are nine abbreviated processes since the beginning of the case, in 2019; It implies that those investigated assume their participation in the events.

As reported by the prosecution, one of the men received an abbreviated process with three years in prison that will be replaced by supervised release, and will be served as follows: one month of house arrest, six months of total house arrest with electronic anklet, 12 months of partial house arrest (also with ankle brace) and 17 months with the obligation to report to a police station.

The second defendant received a three-year sentence, which includes total house arrest, night house arrest, and supervised release.

For the third, the conditions are: one month of house arrest (from 5 to 9 p.m.), 15 months of effective prison, six months of total house arrest; five months of house arrest at night (from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.); and nine months of supervised freedom with attendance at the police station. This is the person who served preventive detention, so it will be deducted from the sentence (of the 15 months of effective prison).

The prosecution added that the three people were sentenced to have to make reparation to their victims, of 12 monthly salariesas has been dictated in previous cases of Operation Ocean.
