Operation Isthmus begins to guarantee security on national holidays and New Year’s Eve

The Security establishments launched Operation Isthmus on the morning of this Thursday, September 28, with which they seek to continue fighting criminal actions and criminal organizations.

The Minister of Public Security, Juan Manuel Pino, stressed that this operation, which puts an end to Operation Alfil, strengthens the joint work against drug trafficking, micro-trafficking, among other crimes, and it will last until the end of the year. In addition, that this operation will guarantee security during national holidays.

Pino explained that they are satisfied with the results of Operation Alfil, which from April 19 to September 27, at the national level, 31,171 people were apprehended, 6,311 raids were carried out, 1,179 weapons seized, and 53,659 drug packages.

During this activity held at the National Police headquarters in Ancón, police units were recognized for their courage and commitment to the country’s security.
