Operating company suspends operations of the Quito Metro

The Quito Metro Metropolitan Public Company reported that after a unilateral decision, the EOMMT SAS Operating Company has decided to suspend the Quito Metro Operation.

The Metropolitan Public Company Metro de Quito, assured that it continues to work hard in the first stage of the provision of the service with collection, requesting the authorization of stations, facilities and the collection system. However, the EOMMT SAS has limited access to most of these services.

“This situation is unacceptable and we hope to resume the provision of the service once the problems with the operating company have been resolved,” they said in a statement.

In the letter they apologized to the citizens for this suspension and the inconvenience it implies for the mobility of the more than 25,000 users.

They stated that this decision affects the development of the most important and emblematic project in Quito and the country.
