The first Pharmacy and Promotion and Orientation Center for the Insured, outside a health facility of the Social Security Fund, was inaugurated on the afternoon of this Wednesday, September 21, at the San Felipe Neri Market.
“The pharmacy has essential primary care medications such as: analgesics and antipyretics, antibacterials, antidiarrheals, antigouts, anthelmintics, antihistamines, anti-inflammatories, antirheumatics, antithrombotics, antihypertensives, among others,” said Iranela Miranda, national deputy director of Primary Health Care.
For his part, the Mayor of the province of Panama, José Luis Fábrega, highlighted that the MUPA conditioned a space within the market, while the CSS adapted the logistics infrastructure and included supplies and furniture; In addition, suitable personnel to guide the population interested in learning about the services provided by the prevention center.
According to the mayor, it is planned that this project will be replicated in other peripheral markets administered by the capital city, such as by Pacoraalso those of Pueblo Nuevo, Chilibre, Mayor Díaz, December 24 and Tocumen.
During the inauguration of the center, there was a counseling team, which gave guidance on healthy eating, strengthening of mental health, measurements of body mass and abdominal perimeter; In addition, it takes blood pressure and glycemia. These factors were taken into account when considering cardiovascular diseases, hypertension and diabetes as the conditions that mostly affect Panamanians.
