Through a statement, the entity indicated that the project, which has a reference price of 3 million 762 thousand 500 balboas, seeks to be “one of the alternatives to solve the historical problem of homeless people. In its first stage, it contemplates the construction of a shelter with capacity for 250 people (150 men and 100 women) which will, in turn, have large social areas duly differentiated by stages (recovery phase/recovery phase)”.
It will also have a kitchen and dining room; laundry and a clothing store for men and women. The mayor’s initiative also allocates a space for medical and nursing care that will work with the support of an interdisciplinary team specialized in psychology, sociology, social work, nutrition, among others.
Such facilities will also have professionals trained in the management of people with emotional and psychological problems due to the abuse of psychoactive substances.
