The Renovating Democratic Union (Unamos) joined the clamor of the relatives of the more than 190 political prisoners who demand that the dictatorship open the doors of “El Chipote” so that the physical health of the prisoners who are detained in the various prisons in Nicaragua by the regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.

In their social networks they have published the photographs of the political prisoners who have already served a year of confinement in the cells of the Directorate of Judicial Assistance (DAJ), known as “El Chipote”, where they are subjected to cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment. that have diminished their health, according to statements by their relatives who visit them when the dictatorship allows it, eight times in more than a year.

“We demand that El Chipote be opened to relatives of political prisoners, the ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross), the IACHR (Inter-American Commission on Human Rights) and the group of independent experts of the UN (United Nations Organization) . Open Chipote!” the political organization wrote on its Twitter account accompanied by a photo of political prisoner Ana Margarita Vijil, former president of Unamos and arrested a year ago.

The two opposition women faced trials for “undermining national integrity” under the alleged violation of Law 1055, Sovereignty Law. Vijil was sentenced to 12 years in prison and Dávila to 13 years in prison.
