Open call to choose a new magistrate of the Electoral Court

From August 29 to September 16, those who wish to occupy the position as magistrate of the Electoral Court (TE) may take their documentation to the General Secretariat of the Supreme Court of Justice.

This is due to the fact that the CSJ initiated the call for the position that Judge Heriberto Araúz will make available, since his 10-year term in the Court expires on November 14, 2022.

The Court detailed that the applicants will be able to present their request during the aforementioned date, so that later, the plenary can deliberate and that the new magistrate begins his term from November 15, 2022.

People who wish to apply for the position of magistrate in the TE must meet the following requirements:

Being Panamanian by birth
Being in full enjoyment of civil and political rights
Be thirty-five years old
Be graduated in Law and have registered the university degree in the office that the Law indicates
Have completed a period of ten years during which they have exercised the profession of lawyer, any position in the Judicial Branch, the Public Ministry, the Electoral Tribunal or the Ombudsman’s Office that requires a university degree in Law, or have been a Law professor in a university teaching establishment
