Open call for the Outstanding Women 2023 contest

As of January 23, the Ombudsman’s Office will receive all applicants to participate in the 2023 National Recognition Contest for Outstanding Women, which for thirteen consecutive years has been organized by the entity in commemoration of International Women’s Day.

The objective of the contest is to make visible the women who have contributed to the development of the country in the field of Human Rights, this year winners will be chosen in five categories: Fight against gender violence, Entrepreneurship, Science, technology and research, Community Leader and Art and Culture.

The requirements include: being Panamanian or foreign with 5 years of residence, having contributed in a relevant and exemplary manner, in at least one (1) of the following areas: equal rights and opportunities for women, in the fight for respect and dignity of Human Rights; and / or in the cultural, literary, social, humanistic or economic field, as well as attach resume and / or documents that support her career, during the five (5) years prior to the date of application, at least .

Registration will be open until February 23, 2023 at 4:00 p.m., said documents must be addressed to the Office of Protection of Women’s Rights, Ombudsman’s Office of the Republic of Panama and delivered to the main office, in Los Toneles Building, Via España, Panama City or in any of the 14 regional offices. It can also be sent digitally to the email [email protected]

It is important that the women nominated have not received recognition in previous editions of this contest, the selection of the winners will be in charge of an external jury and the award ceremony will take place on March 28, for additional information, please contact with the Directorate for the Protection of Women’s Rights at 500-9800.
