The National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) published the results of 100% of the processed and accounted records of the elections to the Mayor of Lima last October 2, and it was confirmed to Rafael Lopez Aliaga (Popular Renewal) as the elected mayor with 1,402,627 votes (26.3% valid votes).
Also, the candidate Daniel Urresti (Podemos Peru) was in second place with 1,349,725 (25.3% valid votes); while George Forsyth (Somos Perú) was third by obtaining 1’007,979 (18.9% valid votes).
In fourth place was the Front of Hopefollowed by Alliance for Progress, Together for Peru, Country advances Y Free Peru.
CANCELLATIONS
On the other hand, so far there are three districts in Lima where the elections have been annulled in the first instance, following resolutions of the Special Electoral Juries. These are Lince, Puente Piedra and Santa María del Mar.
According to the specialist in electoral law, José Manuel Villalobos, it is pending that the National Elections Jury (JNE) —the last instance— resolve the appeals.
