Retirees from the Regime of Decree Law No. 19990 can once again generate income or resume work activities, and continue to receive the monthly pension that is granted to them for having made their contributions prior to the National Pension System (SNP), reported the Social Security Normalization Office (ONP).
This benefit was specified in Supreme Decree No. 282-2021-EF published on October 16. The norm facilitates access to a pension for those insured to the ONP, giving the possibility of accessing a proportional pension to those who have at least 10 years of contributions.
According to the aforementioned decree, “the restart of work activities by the pensioner and / or the restart of economic activity of the pensioner does not suspend the pension obtained and his or her income is not subject to withholding of the contribution in favor of the ONP, unless the pensioner requests the suspension of their pension, as well as resuming the withholding of their contribution to contribute to the ONP, with the purpose that it is recalculated in accordance with current regulations. In no case will the new liquidation harm the amount of the pension ”.

The ONP official explained that to obtain the benefit of ‘Labor Continuity’ the corresponding application can be processed through the platform ONPvirtual.pe.
