The governor (e) of Cesar, Andrés Mesa Araújo, referred to the progress in the anticovid vaccination process in that region of the country and assured that only one of the 25 municipalities complies with 70% of the application of two doses to lift the mandatory use of face masks in closed places.

In dialogue with RCN Worldthe official pointed out that “in the scenario that we find ourselves at the national level in the face of the situation of the pandemic, although in the department of Cesar we are approaching 70%, only one of the 25 towns exceeds that coverage and it is the municipality of González”.

In that sense, he explained the strategies that are being implemented in that region to speed up the immunization of citizens against the virus.

“From the departmental administration and the mayors We have been modifying strategies to ensure that all people are vaccinated. Really, at the beginning, they misrepresented the issue of vaccines not only in Cesar, but also in the country and that is why with that work articulated with the local Health Secretaries, we have had to modify the strategy every week or every 15 days, almost we are coming door to door,” he explained.
