The lack of adequate sanitation is one of the main problems faced by citizens living in the rural area of the Huancavelica region.
Through a report issued by the Comptroller’s Office, only 22% of the rural population, of the 102 districts throughout the department, drink water with an adequate level of chlorination.
In this sense, only 99% have safe water, being in greater irrigation than the Huancavelicanos who are in the urban area.
The Performance Audit Report, which covered from January 1, 2019 to December 2021, confirmed that the monitoring of municipal technical areas is very limited, which does not allow effective monitoring of their activities, harming water users.
