Although the insecurity situation worsens with the days and no light is seen, the motion of censure against the Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñezonly accumulates 18 signatures from congressmen.
The regulations of the Legislative Branch indicate that no less than 25% of the legal number of parliamentarians is needed. That is, there are fifteen accessions missing before it can be officially presented and debated.
So far Alex Flores, Bernardo Quito, Silvana Robles, Pasión Dávila (Socialist Bank) have placed their names; Sigrid Bazán, Ruth Luque, Susel Paredes, Edgard Reymundo (Popular Democratic Bloc); Guillermo Bermejo, Roberto Sánchez, Hamlet Echevarría, Elías Varas, Víctor Cutipa, Wilson Quispe (Together for Peru-Voces del Pueblo); Héctor Acuña (Honor and Democracy); Flor Pablo, Margot Palacios, Carlos Anderson (not grouped).
There are no members of Fuerza Popular, Acción Popular, Renovación Popular, Perú Libre, Bloc Magisterial, Alianza Para el Progreso or Avanza País. But everyone says they are worried about the daily murders.
On Monday, Fuerza Popular demanded in a statement that the Government adopt “concrete measures.” When the interpellation of Santiváñez was voted on, The Fujimoristas opposed the minister attending the plenary session.
Parliamentary sources linked to the promoters of the motion admitted that it is difficult to reach 33 signatures.
Santiváñez was questioned on Wednesday October 2nd. After the murder of a school teacher in Ate, killed by a hitman in front of the students, he declared: “We cannot say that for an event that has happened now there are no more results.”

On the other hand, on Wednesday the 16th in the afternoon, the motion of censure against the Minister of Economy and Finance (MEF), José Arista, will be debated and voted on for his alleged lack of suitability for the exercise of the position. It is mainly promoted by Diego Bazán (Renovación Popular).
At this point it is not certain that there will be enough votes to proceed with the dismissal. 66 are required. The president of the Council of Ministers, Gustavo Adrianzén, said that Arista “is the best Minister of Economy” and that although he recognizes the powers of Congress, he would regret that censorship prospers. “We have to keep him (Arista) so that things are better next year,” Adrianzén declared after appearing at the Budget Commission.
At the Board of Spokespersons it was agreed that the debate time on the motion against the head of the MEF will be two hours, without interruptions or additional minutes.
In the plenary session on Wednesday the 16th, the admission of the motion that proposes to question the Minister of Defense, Walter Astudillo Chávez, will also be consulted. He is expected to answer a list of 41 questions related to the announcements of the purchase of war planes, something that has been criticized by different sectors for being a high expense in circumstances in which that money could be used for other emergencies.
In addition, the document contemplates the following topics: the transfer of inmates to the Challapalca prison, the protection of borders, forest fires, citizen security and the purchase of 10,000 rifles from Israel.
