On the afternoon of this Monday, November 14, during a search operation in sector 8 of Panama Viejo, a uniformed man lost his life.
This operation was carried out by members of the DIJ, but upon arriving at the scene the policemen were surprised by shots, leaving Second Sergeant Rigoberto Valdez injured and dead.
Preliminarily it was learned that two of the attackers were also injured.
Simultaneously in various sectors of the San Miguelito district, Operation Apolo was carried out with the objective of locating weapons, drugs and people required by the authorities. Apolo, was carried out by the National Police in conjunction with the Public Ministry.
The Deputy Director General of the National Police, Simón Henríquez, and the National Director of Citizen Security, Ceferino Villarreal, led part of this Operation.
