LA ROMANA – One person was killed and three others injured in a traffic accident on Monday night entering the Autopista del Coral, near the La Romana International Airport.
The victim was identified as Nilson Manuel Matos Matos, 47 years old, a native of Jaquimeyes, in Barahona, according to his identity document.
Among the injured is Emilio Ramírez Mora, who along with the other injured were traveling in a Daihatsu truck loaded with wood bound for Bávaro.
The wounded were treated and dispatched from the Arístides Fiallo Cabral hospital in La Romana.
While Matos was on board a car in which he was trapped while still alive, for which he was removed by personnel from the La Romana Fire Department.
The dead man was taken to the public hospital morgue, explained Rafael Vicioso, director of Civil Defense.
