The Regional and Municipal Elections 2022 that took place last Sunday, October 2, left more than one surprise due to the little support that some political parties received, not only in Lima, but in different regions of the country.
In the Amazonas region, a case was recorded that caught the attention of the public. It’s about the candidate Artemio Mori Bacalla, who was running with the Popular Renovation party for mayor of the district of San Juan de Lopecan in the province of Luya.
Mori Bacalla’s list was made up of Magali Aguirre Mori, Marlo Vigo Bacalla, Leslie Puerta Vigo, Fortunato Ruiz Rabanal and Emelia Bazan Caman; that is, six sure votes at the polls.
However, the ONPE count, with 100% of the records processed, resulted in only five people voting for Mori Bacalla to be elected mayor of San Juan de Lopecan.
Of the six sure votes that the group counted by the number of candidates (mayor and aldermen), only five of them were encouraged in the end to mark the Popular Renovation symbol.
In social networks, the mayoral candidate was shown with great support; however, the support of the citizens was not reflected in the polls.
