One of the rugby players, Máximo Thomsen, who, according to the plaintiffs, is one of those primarily responsible for the premeditated murder of Fernando Baez Sosa, requested psychological assistance in the Dolores prison, days before the start of the allegations. This young man was regularly assisted by a mental health professional in the Melchor Romero Penal Unit, where he was deprived of his liberty until January 1.
A close friend of Máximo Thomsen said that the rugby player in question is the one who psychologically contains his fellow athletes, who to date maintain a complicity in silence on the case of Fernando Baez Sosa. It is known from Thomsen’s defense attorney that he intends to divert the face of the accusation from “aggravated homicide for treachery and for the premeditated competition of two or more people” (which provides for a life imprisonment), to that of “homicide in a fight or assault” (which contemplates only 2 to 6 years).
After the allegations made by the eight involved in the murder, the sentence of the Oral Criminal Court (TOC) 1 of Dolores is expected to be handed down on January 30 or 31. Previously, the mother and father of Fernando Baez Sosanamed Graciela Sosa and Silvino Báez respectively, gave statements at the time of witnessing the defenses of each of the rugbiers.
Between strong words, Fernando’s parents said that “asking us for forgiveness does not return our son to us”, “at no time did the accused tell us anything. We prefer to be well away from them. I tell society that Fernando is the only victim, they broke his head”. Regarding this last statement, Graciela explained that “they broke all his organs from so many kicks they gave him. He he signed up to donate his organs before finishing high school. Because of the blows and kicks he was given, he could not even donate his organs.
Complaint to the expert of the defense of the rugbiers
The lawyer (Fernando Burlando) for the family of the victim murdered in Villa Gesell said he was preparing a complaint against the expert who presented the defense of the rugbiers involved. This is because she questioned Fernando’s autopsy and tried to link the injuries that the young man received with the Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation maneuvers. (RCP), who tried to bring him back to life, by Virginia Pérez Antonelli.
The expert in question is Juan José Fenoglio. In the words of Burlando, “he began to talk about the hypothesis and said that 0.8% of people resuscitated with CPR suffer lesions in their organism with the characteristics that Fernando had and that is a lie. We are going to denounce him for false testimony”. He then insisted: “doctors swear to defend life, he came here to criticize a colleague and to lie.”
