A young man died and another was injured in an incident that occurred in the La Belleza neighborhood of San Pedro de Macorís.
The victim was identified as Milcíades Alexis Batista Rodríguez (Alex), 35, who lived on Manuel María Corso street in the Miramar sector, south of this city.
Batista Rodríguez was shot in one of his collarbones.
While the wounded man was identified as José Luis de Jesus Santana (Domplin), 20, a resident of Villa Progreso 2, who was shot in one of his arms.
According to the wounded, the incident occurred due to an alleged theft of a cap.
At the scene of the incident, the agents collected 10 nine-millimeter caliber capsules, 1 firearm magazine sprocket, 1 base cap of a firearm magazine, 2 caps of different brands and colors.
According to the Police, the deceased today appears with two criminal records, one in 2011 for theft and another in 2012 for controlled substances.
The Police also keep the named Salvador Soriano (a) Nino in custody, being investigated. The competent authorities came to the scene and recovered the body.
