One hundred people were evacuated by the National Police through the National Directorate of the Environmental, Rural and Tourist Police to avoid being surprised by a head of water in Lake Alajuela, in the Chagres river basin.

According to Cape 2nd. Jilma Gutiérrez, the people managed to get out of the water in time thanks to the support of the police units who carried out the rescue work.

Gutiérrez called on the population to avoid going to rivers and beaches while the rain prevention notices are in place and said that during the summer they should be aware of the signs that appear in the rivers before the arrival of a head of water, such as tone or turbidity, dragging of branches and others.
