A man was found dead and two others are missing after major flooding in the Heraklion regionon the Greek island of Crete, official sources announced this Saturday.
According to the firefighters, The dead man – in his fifties – was trapped in his car when torrential rains began to fall on the southern Greek island.

Meanwhile, the same sources said that a woman, also locked in her car, suffered minor injuries; and that at least nine vehicles stranded in the water had to be rescued.
The local press also reported serious damage in the coastal towns, where the streets have become rivers that drag everything in their path.
The sub-prefect of the region, Nikos Syrigonakis, called on the inhabitants to “limit their movements”.
