A border problem between two communities located in the district of Comas, province of Concepción, Junín region, ended one of its episodes with the death of a parent and several others injured. At noon yesterday, residents of Cochas and Macón clashed with sticks, stones and machetes on the Pampa Cruz hill.

Police personnel arrived in the area, but it would have been impossible to dissuade the men and women who were confronting each other, since there were more than a hundred people. They were also unable to request reinforcements from the Concepción police station due to the terrible radio signal.
As a result of the confrontation, Cirilo Loroña Torres (50), a native of Macon, died and his body was transferred to the Concepción Health Center. Two other people, including Armando Hurtado, were seriously injured and taken to the Carrión de Huancayo Hospital.

According to the testimony of the residents of the area, last Friday some 140 community members from Cochas were attacked by people from Macon. Both communities dispute the communal lands that are in the limits of said communities.
