One dead and several injured, including a baby who was a month and a half old, was the result of an accident that occurred on the José Antonio Páez highway, after a bus swerved and fell into a small ravine in Portuguesa.
The unit, belonging to the Lara Line, was traveling this Sunday with 33 passengers on board from San Cristóbal to Barquisimeto, and at the height of the Morador hamlet, Ospino municipality, it presented alleged mechanical failures that caused the driver to lose control and leave the road.
The injured, with generalized trauma, were transferred by Civil Protection Commissions, Firefighters, Bolivarian National Police (PNB) and Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) to the Daniel Camejo Acosta Comprehensive Diagnostic Center (CDI), in Ospino, but the collector, identified as Rafael Antonio Fuentes (66), residing in Barquisimeto, suffered severe head trauma with an open wound in the occipital region, fractures of humerus, tibia and fibula, for which he was referred to the Antonio María Pineda Hospital in Lara, where his death occurred.
