One dead and one injured in two accidents in the metropolitan area

This weekend two traffic accidents in the metropolitan area resulted in the death of one person and another seriously injured.

The first of the accidents occurred in the town The Toscas, from the department of Canelones. The deceased was a 60-year-old man who died at the wheel of a motorcycle.

The sexagenarian was circulating in the birodado when, while passing through kilometer 48 of the Interbalnearia route, he was hit by a truck. On board the larger vehicle was a 49-year-old man.

As a result of the impact, the motorcyclist presented severe polytrauma and an exposed fracture of his left leg. The authorities transferred him to a health center in Montevideo, where he would finally die hours later. Police are working to clarify how the events occurred.

In the early hours of this Saturday another incident took place, also in the metropolitan area, this time in the country’s capital. In this case, a man was seriously injured after colliding with his car.

The accident occurred around four in the morning. The 9-1-1 Emergency Service received an emergency call reporting a crash on Avenida Italia and Almirón.

The police officers were mobilized to the place and when they arrived they verified the denounced; From the skills it was determined that the man hit a column.

The driver was a 34-year-old man who sustained multiple serious injuries and a cut to the head. The person was referred to Hospital of Clinicswhere he is hospitalized.
