One person died in a traffic accident this Sunday in Santiago de Cuba that also left 32 injured. The incident occurred after 10:30 in the morning when a bus from the Retomed Medical Equipment Factory went off the road and overturned on a slope.
Unofficial sources they assured to the provincial newspaper Sierra Maestra that the vehicle “did not have the mission of transferring passengers on the trip.”
The deceased is the driver of the vehicle, Victor Luis López Revilla, 33, who was heading from the provincial capital to the mountain municipality Tercer Frente. The bus had the incident when it passed through the Cruce Prieto bridge, 6 kilometers from the municipal seat on the road that connects it with Contramaestre, according to the Police.
According to the official press, the injured were transferred to the Orlando Pantoja hospital, in Contramaestre, where the most serious, Marlenis Guerra García, 56, and Jesús Hernández Martínez, of the same age, were operated on, who were waiting to be transferred to Santiago de Cuba. .

However, Hamsel Ross Ortega, 13, from Palma Soriano, and Masalis Batista Castro, 16, from the Third Front, were transferred to Santiago due to their most serious condition. The other minors involved were discharged, Leandro Lautorell Sarmiento, 17, and David Alejandro Ferrer Valdés, 13 years old.
