The overturning of a bus on the Troncal 16 national highway, in the El Tigre-Cantaura section in Anzoátegui state, left one dead and 21 others injured.
According to information from the authorities, the Yutong transport unit was transporting a group of teachers from Bolívar state to the city of Caracas, on Thursday night, when it overturned and hit a fence near the Patio de Tanques Oficina oil facilities ( PTO), known as Tank Farm.
The teacher who lost his life was identified as Marcos Antonio Cárdenas Rondón, 45 years old, and 21 others were injured, who were transferred to different public and private health centers in the area, in addition to the Felipe Guevara Rojas hospital in El Tigre. .
The injured were identified as Nelson Bastardo; 55 years old and was the driver of the unit, Yennibel Figuera (36), Yaned Mogollón (41), Jania Peña (42), Anni Quintana (48), Luis Hernández (53) and Kerli Briceño (39).
Also Ramona Rodríguez (55), Liorimar Rodríguez (46), Marielis Bolívar (46), Beatriz Redondo (59), Zuleima González (52), Endosia Barreto (51), Levis Molina (52), Bárbara de Freites (46) and Brenda Jaramillo (48).
Five other people only presented abrasions and their identities were not provided.
It was learned that the group of teachers left the city of Puerto Ordaz, bound for the city of Caracas, to participate in a congress of the Ministry of Education.
So far the causes of the accident are unknown.
