The moment when one waterspout passed through the streets of Piriápolis stayed recorded on a security camera from the spa, according to the Meteorology Station BCP account on Twitter.

Shortly after this phenomenon was recorded on the Uruguayan coast, the Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) explained that there were two waterspouts: one in Aguas Dulces (on Wednesday, in Rocha) and the other in Piriápolis (on Friday, in Maldonado). .
What is a waterspout?
“A waterspout is a rotating vortex of rising wind, from the sea surface towards the cloud.Inumet explained.
And he added: “The conditions of relatively warm temperatures of the marine surface and the interaction with a cold and unstable air mass that currently affects the Uruguayan coast, favor the formation of these phenomena“.
