On their way to governing the US, Trump and Vance attack Mexico

“Mexico took jobs from the United States,” “it is necessary to close the border,” “we must finish building the wall,” and “we must stop the invasion of migrants,” were some of the statements made by the politicians in their speeches.

That Mexico is the object of criticism and attacks is not new, however, in each electoral process, The accusations against the country with which more than 3,000 kilometers of border are shared tend to increase, where 75% of encounters with migrants take place and with which there is a vital economic relationship.

Here’s what they said about Mexico:

Trump is going to complete the wall on the border

If he becomes President of the United States, Donald Trump already has a plan to stop irregular migration: finish building the wall on the border shared with Mexico.

“We will end the illegal immigration crisis by closing our border and finishing the wall, most of which I have already built… We have to stop the invasion of our country, an invasion that is killing hundreds of thousands,” the Republican said in his speech given this Thursday in front of hundreds of Republicans.

The former US president has also promised that as soon as he returns to the White House, “will carry out the largest mass deportation in American history” and cut off resources for sanctuary cities.” He also recalled that during his first administration he made Mexico quickly accept the “Stay in Mexico” program, which sent migrants to the southern border to await their paperwork to enter the United States.

“We told them there would be repercussions and they accepted that,” he recalled.

After accepting the nomination as a candidate, Trump repeated that with the arrival of migrants, the spread of the virus in the United States “misery, crime, poverty, disease and the destruction of communities across our lands.”

As he has done on other occasions, he accused countries that expel migrants of sending criminals to the United States.

“They are sending assassins, drug dealers, terrorists and criminals of all kinds,” the former president said, without providing a single piece of evidence for his claims.

This week Donald Trump was named as the Republican Party’s candidate for President of the United States.
