On the Reyes bridge, road travelers grew 7%

On the festive bridge of Kings, The Directorate of Transit and Transportation (Ditra) of the National Police, reported, cut off at noon yesterday, the mobilization of 3.84 million toll-pass vehicles, that is, 7% more than in 2022, the year in which the record was 3.58 million.

In the case of the capital, the Ditra registered the toll crossing of 498,993 vehicles (tolls near Bogotá), which represents 19% less compared to the same period in 2022.
Regarding the tickets, in Bogota, 231,628 were reported, which means a drop of 7%. Regarding departures, 267,365 were registered, 5% less compared to 2022.

Despite this dynamic, in the case of the Casa Blanca toll (via Ubate) there was an increase of 73% in vehicle tolls, as in the Chusacá (via Sibaté), in which an increase was reported of 33% in the passage of vehicles compared to the previous year. The others in areas surrounding Bogotá showed decreases between 6% (Roble) and 67% (Patios).

However, the case of Cundinamarca is contrary to the exits, since they showed an increase of 30%, going from 469,235 in 2022 to 610,794 in 2023, however, the entries showed a slight drop of 9% with 419,725 toll booth records. , that is, 41,026 less than in the same period of the previous year.

By days, January 7 saw the greatest movement on the country’s highways with a growth of 14%, followed by January 8 (11%). In Cundinamarca this ranking continues, presenting increases of 18% and 16% respectively. Finally in Bogota, The only day with the highest number of toll booth vehicles was January 7, with a 3% growth. LThe other days showed falls in the figures.

What happened on the tracks?

During these four days, with a cut-off at noon on January 9, the National Police issued 743 sanctions to drivers for not carrying their driver’s license, despite this, the figure is lower than in 2022, where the sanctions amounted to 847.

In second place as the most penalized infraction is the reason for not carrying the Mechanical Technical Inspection up to date, with 535 registered fines, which represent a slight decrease compared to the previous year of 2%. After this, the most frequent reason for imposing subpoenas and/or traffic fines was for driving motorcycles without observing the rules, with 350 registrations, however, this figure is barely a third of those imposed in 2022, the year in which the number was 544.

It is worth recognizing that the offense with the highest fall it was for informal transportation, going from 323 fines in 2022 to 122 in 2023.

Based on the information provided by the Ditra, 91 accidents have been registered on the different highways, 73% less than in 2022 and 28 deaths, 59% less than in the previous year.
