A complete deployment in favor of Carabineros has shown this Tuesday, a day in which the Day of the Young Combatant is commemorated, the Minister of the Interior, Izkia Siches.
In the morning, after leading a security meeting with the mayor of Santiago, Irací Hassler; the Minister of Economy, Nicolás Grau; the Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalve; and Carabineros General Marcelo Araya, Minister Siches indicated that the Government of President Gabriel Boric will not “tolerate violent attacks, whether it is the attempt to burn down a commercial premises or more serious: the beating of our Carabineros officials.”

“In this sense, I want to say that the Carabineros have our full support, from our entire ministry, to continue their work and protect Chilean men and women, always with respect for human rights,” he added.
Hours later, she continued with the trend, from the Non-commissioned Officers School, located in the commune of Macul, where she was received by the general director of Carabineros, Ricardo Yáñez. There she met for 15 minutes with the police officer attacked last Friday in demonstrations in Santiago, for which she had to use her service weapon to protect herself, injuring a delivery man who was passing by.
“It is very important for us as the Ministry of the Interior and as a government to be accompanying them and wishing them to be able to carry out their functions, in a prudent manner, maintaining unrestricted respect for human rights, but also to reiterate our government’s support for each of the functions”, began by saying the chief of staff, according to the newspaper Third.
He then added that “a society in which we live and build the accompaniment of all the people who inhabit this country, requires maintaining public order, and that is why the function that you carry out, especially on a day as complex as this, is essential. ”.
“It is necessary for us to reiterate our government’s support for their functions and that they feel, in each of the roles they have to play, confident that we will be supporting them and accompanying them in each of these actions,” he added.
