The oil tanker strike Petrobras reached its third day this Wednesday (17). According to the Single Federation of Oil Workers (FUP)which represents the category, The strike movement has 100% support from the Petrobras system on the 28 platforms in the Campos Basin, off the coast of Rio de Janeiro.
On these platforms, in addition to Petrobras employees, there is a large participation of labor from outsourced companies.
The FUP reported that oil workers from the Abreu e Lima Refinery (Rnest), in Pernambuco, joined the strike, bringing the number of refineries with membership to nine. On Tuesday (16), there were 24 platforms and nine refineries.
The scenario monitored by FUP indicates adherence in:
- 9 refineries
- 28 platforms
- 13 Transpetro units (Petrobras transport subsidiary)
- 4 thermoelectric plants
- 2 biodiesel plants
- Onshore production fields in Bahia
- Cabiúnas Gas Treatment Unit (UTGCAB)
- Paulínia Compression Station (TBG)
- Administrative headquarters in Natal
THE strike started on Monday (15) has the following claims:
- Improvements in the job and salary plan;
- Solution for Deficit Equating Plans (PEDs) of Petros (category pension fund);
- Defense of the Brasil Soberano agenda, which defends the maintenance of Petrobras as a public company and a business model aimed at strengthening the state-owned company.
Petrobras contingency
Through a note sent to Brazil Agency, Petrobras reported that contingency teams are prepared and mobilized to maintain operations, without harm to production and supply to the market.
“To date, there has been no impact on production, and supply to the market remains guaranteed, without changes,” states the statement.
The company adds that it respects employees’ right to demonstrate and remains open to dialogue with trade unions.
According to the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP), the sector’s regulatory body, Petrobras, alone or in consortium with other companies, is responsible for around 90% of the total oil and natural gas produced in the country.
