In the night of midfielder Maycon, Corinthians achieved an important victory in the Copa Libertadores, beating the powerful Boca Juniors (Argentina) 2-0, this Tuesday (26) at the Neo Química Arena, in São Paulo, to take the lead of Group E of the competition with six points.

The victory has a special meaning for Timão, as it eases the pressure after the 3-0 defeat to Palmeiras last Saturday (23) for the Brazilian Championship.
Playing at home, Corinthians opened the scoring early, after just four minutes. Renato Augusto found Fagner, who crossed to midfielder Maycon, who headed in to overcome goalkeeper Javier Garcia.

In the 32nd minute of the second half, Timão’s number 5 was once again decisive, when he took advantage of the leftover after a cross kick from Róger Guedes to give final numbers to the confrontation.
Corinthians’ next commitment to Libertadores will be on Wednesday of next week (4), when they visit Deportivo Cali (Colombia).
