The mandatory use of the mask has come to an end, because in his speech to the nation, this Friday, July 1, the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo, announced that this measure will be lifted as of July 11.

From that date it will no longer be mandatory to use face masks in open and closed spaces, except in health facilities and in public passenger transport.

“I am announcing to the country that as of Monday, July 11, the sanitary measure of the mandatory use of the mask in open and closed spaces will be lifted, with the exception of public and private health facilities, and public passenger transport,” said the president.

The The Ministry of Health said that despite the fact that this measure is lifted, it is important that the population does not lower its guard and maintain constant hand washing with soap and water or alcohol gel. “We are our own security ring!” They specified.
