To this must be added, he explained, that there will be a higher income because people will have access to their CTS funds. The availability of the resources of the AFPs is not considered because the first disbursement will be after the date of celebration.

For the representative of the CCL, electrical appliances will definitely be the stars of this campaign, mainly televisions because we are in a World Cup year. “And if Peru goes to Qatar, there will be more dynamism,” she noted.

ELECTRONIC COMMERCE

This campaign will not be alien to Internet sales. In this regard, Helmut Cáceda, executive president of the Peruvian Chamber of Electronic Commerce, explained that they expect an increase of between 15% and 18% versus an average day.

The sector in which they expect the greatest growth is that of food and beverages, which will advance 110%. This is followed by technology, fashion and perfumery, he explained.

Meanwhile, Juan José Meneses, regional director for Peru and Ecuador of Salesland, a reference multinational specializing in the development of omnichannel commercial projects, commented that soccer is what is driving sales this year.

“In electronic commerce we will see an increase in sales of televisions and cell phones,” he stressed. For the company, adding a physical store, the marketplace, mobile commerce, social networks, catalogs, among others, boosts commerce.

However, Meneses indicated that although there are products that show a recovery, there are factors, such as logistics costs and maritime transport, that affect them.

On the other hand, he stressed that new means of payment drive sales. In other words, having the use of the applications of financial institutions gives people greater facilities and confidence to make a payment.

KEEP IN MIND

  • Helmut Cáceda recalled that Internet sales in 2021 totaled US$9.3 billion, which meant an advance of 55% compared to 2020. The number of users reached 13.9 million.
  • However, in the first half of 2022, a drop in users is expected because the trend of purchases in physical stores is recovering given the progress of vaccination and the return to offices.
