This Sunday morning, the Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruiz, arrived in the city of Malabo in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea to fulfill diplomatic commitments to exchange experiences and good practices in matters of human rights, according to a press release from the institution. .
On this occasion, a meeting is planned between the Ombudsmen of both Republics and the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding for the execution of training projects on human rights between the Ombudsman’s Office of the Republic. Bolivarian of Venezuela and the Ombudsman’s Office of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.
With the signing of this Memorandum, the Venezuelan Ombudsman seeks to promote and foster educational programs, based on solidarity and the experience obtained in the implementation of human rights issues in Venezuela, aimed at popular communities, institutions, schools, health centers , among other recipients, to seek the strengthening of institutions and the population in general for the exercise of surveillance, defense and promotion of their rights.
Through a basic training proposal already implemented in Venezuela and other countries, the officials of the Venezuelan Ombudsman’s Office would provide participants with conceptual elements of human rights and good practices, in order to strengthen the construction of an emancipatory, critical culture. and alternative of human rights.
The Venezuelan Ombudsman’s Office will continue to carry out this type of cooperation with allied countries that wish to reinforce their training in human rights.
