Ombudsman Alfredo Ruiz nominated his Bolivian counterpart, Pedro Francisco Callisaya Aro, as the new representative of the Network of National Institutions for the Promotion of Human Rights of the American Continent (RINDHCA) before the Andean Nations.
The nomination occurred during Ruiz’s participation in the II Virtual Extraordinary Session of the RINDHCA, where the Bolivian representative was unanimously elected.
The meeting was led by the Attorney for the Defense of Human Rights of the Republic of El Salvador and general secretary of the aforementioned network, Raquel Caballero de Guevara.
The head of the National Human Rights Institution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela participated together with the defenders of the countries of the American continent, which make up this network with the intention of proceeding to elect the Coordination Committee of the RINDHCA, as well as the representative from the Americas on the GANHRI Finance Committee; In addition, the new Defender of the Inhabitants of Costa Rica, Angie Cruickshan Laambert, was introduced.
Ruiz took the opportunity to congratulate everyone who was elected and re-elected to their posts, while urging them to continue working for human rights in the Americas.
