The Ombudsman’s Office held an ecumenical meeting this Friday for the sixth time, in which different religious manifestations and creeds that make life in the country participated, to offer a prayer for peace and spirituality.
The activity was headed by the head of the entity, Alfredo Ruiz Angulo, who expressed that “today is a very important day where we remember Marshal Antonio José de Sucre, the promoter of international humanitarian law.”
In his speech, the defender also recalled the assassination of Mahatma Ghandi.
“That is why all the nations of the world recognize the work of these great people who have accompanied this proposal of justice and tolerance to achieve peace,” he said.
The Jesuit priest José Numa Molina, who participated on behalf of the Catholic Church, stated that peace is born within oneself, “we must teach our people to work for the common good in favor of solidarity. The force of good is in favor of peace, which will be the force of love”.
A representative of the indigenous peoples of Venezuela was also present at the meeting.
The teacher Eddy Castro Tisoy stated “that we must speak to humanity, listen to all of us, and always give thanks for facing so many situations.”
