Ombudsman opens complaint to Meduca for the terrible state of the José Guardia Vega School

After making a tour where the terrible state of the infrastructure of the José Guardia Vega School was evidenced, the Ombudsman’s Office, through the Colón Regional Office, opened a complaint to the National Directorate of Engineering and Infrastructure of the Ministry of Education (MEDUCA). .

The complaint was presented by the Right of Petition due to requests allegedly not attended to by the Educational community of the José Guardia Vega School.

In the tour carried out by officials of the National Institution of Human Rights (INDH), it was evidenced that part of the infrastructures are in a terrible state and can no longer be used or intervened by the Fund for Equity and Quality of Education (FECE), due to the advanced stage of its deterioration.

In a meeting with the director of the campus, she pointed out that the answers she has expected from MEDUCA have not arrived, mainly due to legal issues concerning the fact that the building is part of the Historical Heritage of the city center.
