Ombudsman for Children calls for a march against child abuse

This Monday, the 30th, the precautionary hearing will be held for the three people apprehended for the complaint of abuse in a daycare of Santa Cruz. In addition, the Ombudsman for Children and Adolescents announced that also on Monday, at 5:00 p.m., it will hold a march against child violence “In repudiation of the latest events committed in a kindergarten.”

Representatives of the Mayor’s Office of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, through the Secretary of Human Development, Generational Affairs and the Ombudsman for Children and Adolescents met with the parents of the children who attended the Garden House day care center.

“On the occasion, they were made aware of all the actions that were carried out, in addition to providing them with all the free legal and psychological support throughout the process of recovering the minors”, says an informative bulletin.

“We condemn all acts of abuse and mistreatment of our childrenexpresses Human Development in their social networks, as part of the message calling for the march, which will start from the Departmental Command of the Police.

March against child abuse

Of the three people apprehended, two correspond to the owners, Romy AA, and her husband Diego A. Ch. O., in addition to Lucía CP, one of the workers.

Hermanas de Lucía, in contact with the media, indicated that the young man volunteered to testify, on Saturday night, and that she did not work at the branch of the nursery where the abuse was reported. They insisted on her innocence.

For his part, the parents’ lawyer, Jhonatan Mamani, said that they were, supposedly manipulated and persuaded so as not to report abuse earlier.

“We call on those investigated and accomplices to come forward and don’t try to hide because they aggravate their legal situation. And those people who have confidential information, help with justice to clarify the facts,” said the lawyer, who accuses the nursery workers of hinder the investigation.

There are still five arrest warrants that must be executed and that correspond to workers or ‘aunts’ of the nursery.
