Santiago -The Office of the Ombudsman develops the first regional consultation on human rights in Santiago during a meeting on the campus of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (CURSA- UASD)
Pablo Ulloa, Ombudsman, stated that the results of the first regional consultation will be presented on December 10 of this year, Human Rights Day.
The consultations are consummated in order to prepare the annual report on human rights for the year 2023.
This type of participatory meeting tries to understand the situation in which human rights are currently found in the national territory and seeks to establish a baseline that allows defining, monitoring and evaluating policies, plans and programs for the protection and promotion of human rights.
The methodology of the meeting was carried out with 6 discussion tables which divided the topics related to civil, political and justice, economic, social, cultural, sports, as well as collective and environmental rights.
The activity is carried out in classroom three of master’s degrees located in the Library of the UASD Santiago Campus, La Barranquita campus.
Prior to the formal start of the activity, Pablo Ulloa, Ombudsman, was received in the office of the general director of the house of higher studies, teacher Juan Arias Fuentes, accompanied by teachers Josefina Disla, academic deputy director and Rafael Veras Granados, administrative deputy director where They talked about different topics.
